![]() Your competition can be set to easy, medium, hard or very hard depending on your skill level and the challenge you want to face. For Practice, for example, you can have it limited to a number of laps or time limit up to 15 minutes. Within each session in Season or Race Weekend mode, you can adjust the length and difficulty of the event. Is why I encourage you to get some mileage under your belt before getting started on a season. ![]() But if you decide to race as Felipe Nasr in the Sauber, your expected to finish in the Top 15. If you race as Nico Rosberg for Mercedes, your expectation is 2nd place. So, for example, if you jump into the Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton, you are going to be expected to finish 1st in Practice, Qualifying and the Race. The key thing to remember is that your expectations from the team vary with each team. Once you do get to the point where you are ready to get into Season mode, you have the option to select any team on the grid and one of the drivers for that team. You will have to get the “feel” for the car and the controls and that takes a bit of practice. Sure you can do that but I really recommend that you spend time in the Time Trials and Race Weekend sections first. Think of it as a one-off weekendĪs with other Codemaster F1 games, the urge is to get into a season and start winning races. Race Weekend: Here you have a practice, qualifying and race but it is outside of a season.Custom Season: Here you can create a season of various lengths competing at the circuits you select in the order you select. You have practice, qualifying and the race itself with the goal to win the Drivers Championship. Season: You compete with your selected team and driver the 21-race schedule of the 2016 season.Weekly Trial: Here you compete in a pre-selected car with a pre-selected driver on a pre-selected circuit and you try to lay down the best time, competing against others globally. This is a great place to try out different car setups and tires before going into a season or race weekend. ![]() Time Trial: Here you select your car and the circuit and try to lay down your best time. There are multiple playing modes in the game: There are no in-app purchases so once you pay your $10, its your game completely Once you get a feel for the game you can then start tweaking.į1 2016 is has multiple different playing modes and all of them are available to you when you purchase the game. My recommendation is to try the different control settings to figure out which works best for you and keep the sensitivity settings at default. This latter mode is how I prefer to play and you can adjust the sensitivity and camera tilt through corners to make it easier to play. There are four different ways you can control your car ranging from all touch controls (including a touch steering wheel) to tilt controls with touch controls for the brake and accelerator. Like other games, you have a variety of controls that you can adjust for the game such as the volume levels of the music and sound effects in the game, connecting the game to your Google Play account and how you want to control your car in the game. Codemasters clearly did a lot of work to make the game feel real with stunningly good images of the tracks, cars and the in game playing experience. The graphics, even from the main menu, are beautiful. The girth of that install equally becomes evident when you open up the game. For those who have 32GB or 64GB devices, this is likely to be no big deal but for those on 16GB devices, be Once the APK is on your phone from the Play Store, you need to have about 2.3GB of space available on your phone or tablet to install it. It is huge for a mobile app, weighing in at 1.2GB for the installer. The first thing that you will discover about F1 2016 after you purchase it is the size. It’s not perfect but it is fun and challenging and that should keep F1 fans who want to turn a few laps at Monaco, Spa or Silverstone, happy and satisfied. ![]() I have been playing F1 2016 since the day it was released and I will admit, despite the hype, that I was skeptical that it would be a good game playing experience. While it doesn’t have the level of controls or customizations that the console level game has, F1 2016 is a remarkably well developed game with outstanding graphics, real teams, real drivers and, of course, real circuits. That changed when Codemasters, the developer behind the console F1 games, released their mobile centric game, F1 2016. Sure the console games are fantastic from Codemasters but on mobile devices – both Android and iOS – there were F1-style games but nothing that would truly satisfy a fan of the sport. The challenge has been the lack of such a game. As a Formula One fan, the desire to play a reasonably realistic game based on real drivers, teams and circuits has been there for a long time.
